Artificial Insemination

Artificial Insemination (also known as Intrauterine insemination or IUI)

In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)
  • Brief: IVF (In-vitro Fertilization) is a process in which the eggs are removed by needle aspiration through the vagina (with guidance of vaginal ultrasound) and are mixed with the husband’s sperms and kept in the incubator for 2-3 days. The fertilized eggs (embryos) are then transferred into the uterus (womb).

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)
  • Brief: ICSI – Intra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection is a specialized technique in which the eggs are removed and each egg is injected with a single motile sperm. These eggs are incubated for 2-3 days and the embryos are put back into the womb. By this technique men with a low sperm count or no sperm count  can achieve fatherhood.
  • Benefits: The ICSI procedure will give the patient and her spouse a chance of conceiving your genetic child when other options are closed to you. ICSI can also be used to help couples with unexplained infertility.
  • Total days stay required for the procedure: One cycle of ICSI takes between four to six weeks to complete. The patient and her spouse can expect to spend a full day at the clinic for the egg and sperm retrieval procedures. You’ll go back anywhere between two days and six days later for the embryo transfer procedure.
